there is ths group of male coworkers trying to spread the rumours that one of the females is having an affair with another coworker, she is a decent lady and doesnt pay a **** to these guys but i thnk if they are not stopped here they will be encouraged to do it to other females also?

I would actually video tape it.
Then send an anonymous copy to HR.
That will cause a company riot and some ethics classes.
