you might have internal engine damage sounds like a bent valve, or pushrod, how mamy miles? have you ever had t-belt changed or t-chain checked? they can stetch and break and jump timing and bend valves and pushrods, in any case if its knocking and stalling you should not drive it until you ge tit looked at, you most likley need engine rebuild.

How many miles on the thing? Sounds like she's getting ready to suck a valve! Definitely a valve problem. Could be broken, bent, not seating properly, burnt, camshaft wiped out from poor maintainence---who knows without getting inside to see what's there!

It sounds like fuel starvation. The first step would be a fuel filter.

hi JHarvey, i assume by technique of the age of the truck that it is severe mileage?. If it received't re-initiate after warmth up it in a number of of situations ability low compression and after cool down the compression might want to be extra and it restarts......Have a compression verify run on your engine and which will exhibit your subject.....It probable smokes also, yet another clue to low compression.....bear in mind: you want gas,COMPRESSION,IGNITION to ensure that an inner combustion engine to operate.......satisfied days......
