I can't bear to look at it, and if I have to move something that's gone off from my cupboard or fridge I have to avoid looking. It makes me shiver. Is anyone else like this?

I spelt it correctly! It might be that you spell in differently in other countries but here it is mould..I've done spell check on my computer and that's what it says, and it doesn't recognise "mold" so there lol!
Thanks for the replies anyway, at least I know I'm not alone!

I'm allergic to mold, so it makes me nervous...there's also this sense that it can become airborn and is insidious...scary characteristics! Creepy, how the white or green fuzzy kind grows in clouds; nasty, how the pink stuff crops up so quickly in wet places; menacing, how the black stuff climbs in unfathomable squirty patterns up a dank basement wall.

I'm also getting increasingly freaked out by people who obsess over perceived misspellings...
is that a form of OCD? It worries me, the spelling-minders...

I don't like to see that it is growing on a door, a wall or in a closet corner. It is a symptom of too much dampness and that is hard to treat. It is a fungus among us and it looks bad, makes the place appear dirty and makes some people physically sick. I am not frightened of it ,though, I'd like to kill it before it takes over the world.

No I'm sorry I'm not afraid of mould. Penicillin is made from mould, and has saved many lives. Maybe if you think of that the next time you see mould you will feel better.

Please note you have misspelled the word mold. LOL. JK, actually, while not scared of it, I really think it's a strong emotion to see mold growing on something, I think that's natures way of making sure we don't eat the mold.

I really cannot stand it personally and even worse is when a fungus or mushroom grows on something out in nature, yucky.
