Once the images are uploaded to the Yahoo album, you can delete the photos from your email and your hard drive (C:\ drive) without having them removed from the Yahoo album. You may not want to, however.

Although Yahoo is pretty good about doing backups, it is certainly possible that they may lose their data one day, for one reason or another. I'm sure that when you signed up to us the Yahoo album service, there was something in the contract that stated that they would not be liable if ever they lost their data. That data could include pictures of course. Having the pictures on your hard drive counts as a back up. If you're running out of space on your hard drive, consider archiving the photo files onto a CD and then removing them from the hard drive.

Also, when you upload an image to a service like Yahoo Album, the image quality is typically reduced by a significant amount. That is, the image dimensions are shrunk and the quality is lessened. Normally, you don't even notice. But suppose at some later point you want to take one of those images and enlarge it, so you can hang it on the wall. If your only copy of the image was on Yahoo Album, you wouldn't have the original high-quality image at your disposal. This could mean that any enlargement of the image would result fuzziness or pixelation in the end result. You should keep that in mind.

Good luck!
