check you have pluged into the green one that is sound out
check you have power to your speakers.
open control panal / sounds and audio devices
check to see if mute is ticked (untick it )click on advanced in that area check others are not muted ( done )
right click my computer / properties / hardware / device manager
check for any "(?)" with yellow or green background, if there are under sound ,video, game controlers, reinstall your sound and video drivers that came with you pc
if you find any with a red x right click them , then click enable

I'm a little confused by your statement. You say you accidentally deleted something but you don't know what it was????????/ Then, how do you know you've deleted something? Are you just guessing? The reason I ask is because whatever you deleted (if anything) is the CLUE to why your sound quit working. The best thing you could do at this point with the info you have is to do a System Restore. If that doesn't work, then the other suggestions on here are your next step. How do you know something was deleted? I'm still confused...lol Is anything missing, other than your sound? good luck to ya though... keep us updated okay... we'll get your sound back :-)

Reinstall the audio drivers. You get the audio drivers off the net. Eg if you have a dell, go to dell.com look for the support/download section it will ask you for the model of your computer and list all of the drivers. Follow the instuctions.
