Independent. The concept is actually based on the false belief that a man CAN BE an island unto himself. Real freedom is like a plant plucked from the ground. Finally, it is truly free, but it is also then dying because it has no control or influence over the forces around it.

Dear Womble,
I am so glad that you are still in Wimbledon and that you are still wombling free, namely picking up all the litter dropped by us humans. Presumably you are still enjoying the gorgeous cooking of Madame Cholet rather than eating the cast offs from Mac Donald that happen to come your way on the common.
Of course the Big Macs would be "free" in the sense that you do not have to pay for them, but I am sure that you are talking of your freedom of choice which under the present nannying state is becoming compromised by the Health and Safety brigade. Presumably you now have to wear Marigolds and are no longer free to pick up anything that might give you Aids or HIV.

You obviously are approaching the time when you will meet your maker as you are very long in the tooth. You were of my generation rather than my children's although they loved you dearly (especially the "common are we". Such a frank admission!). You were so inspirational and you were "fancy free" unless you embarked on an affair with Madame Cholet since.
I do hope you have not been evicted from your normal stumping ground and are still enjoying the right to wander free which has been extended recently.I hope it has not become too much for you as there must be plenty of other places now open to you, and the task of clearing must be increasing daily, with all the new rubbish which is now triple wrapping anything we buy.
Thank you for your generous FREE service.
Wise Owl

Most companies will provide you something "free" if you use their service, purchase something else, etc. So in a sense it's not really free, but just at no cash cost to you (unless it's a prize won, in which case the IRS may collect taxes on its value).

Free means to have the feeling and knowledge that you are not tied down to something you are not supportive of. It is knowing that you can do something at your own free will and not have to face any consequences. Its being able to breath and not have any obligations or responsibilities that you dont want to do.

Easy! Without cost. This can mean financial cost, emotional cost, etc. but simply without cost. You pay nothing for it by any means.
