Men and women have about equal emotional problems. I know that is an assumption, because no one has made a wide enough study. If we can accept that idea, then we can look at how those emotions are expressed. Men and women express their emotions differently. It is largely for the individual to decide how to express and control their emotions.

Probably men. Women tend to get it out and deal with it, while men think they can ignore it away. Men never tend to think of anger as an emotional problem either, so they're in deep denial about a lot of it.

men and women have the same level/amount/kind of emotional problems. the difference lies on how they handle or deal these problems.
women are more emotionally open, and thus could freely and fully express what they feel to their partners, friends or support group. in this way, they can solve these problems and get over it as soon as they have released their emotions.
men on the other hand, were "trained" and expected by society to be more reserve and manly, so much so that they deprived themselves of expressing their emotions correctly. these repressed emotions and emotional hang-ups shows later in life. this is also one of the causes of unexpected violent outburts of men towards their partners, child or any other person, who had somehow reminded them of their suppresed emotional problems.

Depends on the society. In American society, women are Socialized to be more emotional and thus are inclined to experience more emotional distress simply because of their perception of the situation. Men, albeit, are disposed to concealment of their emotional stress, so who's to say which is more problematic.

IMen have more emotional problems. Men have a far greater rate of suicide and commit about ninety percent of the violent crimes in our society. However, I wouldn't assume that it is strictly a gender issue. As other posters have noted, cultural influences may be the causal factor.

I would say that in general both have equal emotional problems. We have simply been conditioned to release them in different ways.
