Ahh yes...fear of success! Almost as bad as fear of failure! You can't let yourself enjoy the present for worrying about the future. You can't be happy about your good luck for fear that it will come to an end...We can be our own worst enemies!!
Don't ruin a good thing! Live in the moment. Tell the negative voice to shut up & let you enjoy yourself! Worrying never stopped anything from happening. Now if I can just practice what I preach I'll be all set!!!

I used to, now I just accept it. It seemed for every good thing, three things bad would come. Made me not to intent on trying. People kept telling me things would get better. Yet everytime I was up, I got knocked down. Those people didn't really understand.
If you're grateful for life beyond the good and bad then it wont matter as much will it?
If you're grateful to be alive during the pain, then think how happy you'll be during the good? Contrary to what that little voice in your head tells you: it's ok to feel happy if what's happening is moral.
There are many things I want or may have wanted that are immoral, but accepted by society or certain groups of society, when I would start to get them I would feel nervous. In my mind I never understood why getting closer to what I wanted caused me to get nervous and failed.

Not consciously, but I was born with many gifts and my life is a string of failures. I can not logically fathom a fear of success, but I have a sneaking suspicion I must have it.
For one example I got a dream job making more money than I had imagined, doing something I was very good at. After a few months and the breakup of an engagement, I quit my job to become an "artist".
Of course I would not have my beautiful daughter if I had not made that decision, but I am still scratching my head as to what I was thinking. I know money can't buy happiness but having for a while sure was fun.
Now I am back in school and an honors student with the majority of my first degree under my belt and I am starting to find reasons why I can't make it. It does not make sense to me why someone would be afraid of success. But the evidence for it is pretty clear cut, at least in my case.

My ex-husband was always afraid to be happy, because he felt things would go wrong if he was.
I'm a born optimist and things have always went well for me.
We create events with our thoughts. I never worry. Even if something becomes an obstacle for me, I just figure out a way to get around it. I don't imagine the worst.
If you start worrying, you will create an unfortunate event. If things are going well, enjoy them and be thankful. Forget fears.

For me, I enjoy the moments of "good luck", knowing full well that things change--that's the only constant in the universe. So, I may enjoy what my life is reaping right now, and I get through the bad times as well by remember that all things change and that those will not last either. If you cannot enjoy the good moments, what good are they? Try not to hold on to good moments and simply participate in them.

Sometimes... like when I want something to happen but I know that it would be "bad" if it did happen. And then I see the first step of what I want to take place take place. And I think "I wonder if God is listening..." and that's always a little scary to contemplate.
