Been there, done that. Look around you at work and see what needs to be done that you can do. Take some initiative, get motivated about your job, because there's nothing you can do about what is waiting for you at home. Leave the home stuff there. A very hard life lesson to learn.

Get a pad and write down some things you need to put more thought, and effort into, when you get the chance. It can be a great chance to let your mind wander, and quite frankly, you'll be amazed at the good it will do. List all things that are bothering you, and your plan to solve them. This can be some valuable time, if you use it correctly. Good Luck....!

could you pretend to be seriously ill and have to go home?
or
take an urgent phone call that calls you away
or
start crying and just dont stop, saying you are very stressed and that you think you need some time alone?
or
you said nothing stupid, so going for gross misconduct is out....but you could just act really drunk, then they would sack you, or at least send you home....
hope these help.....good luck with your shift....
personally i find that the old dodgy tummy always works, just keep rushing to the loo with a pained look on your face......

well, if you can afford to take the hours off, then i would say tell your boss that you are not feeling well, that you feel like your going to throw up, nobody wants to see someone throwing up, and ask him if it would be OK if you got out of there.make sure you say that your soory for asking to leave, its just that you dont think that you can stay, all you want to do is go home. and that you will do your best to come in tomorrow. that makes it seem like you really feel bad about leaving.

look for another job....you sound like you are over qualified or don't have enough to do, get a piece of paper and start writing the first thing that comes into your head, just write, doesn't have to make sense, don't have to show it to anyone...
