The easiest and cleanest way I know is:
1. Make your impression in plasicine clay.
2. Put clay in bottom of small box or bowl.
3. Pour colored plaster over the clay, let harden.
4. Remove clay from hardened plaster.
5. Clean inside of (now) plaster mold with liquid soap.
6. Fill mold with more plaster, let harden.
7. Carefully remove colored plaster down to where it turns white.
