The best way is to get a gym membership for the both of you so she doesn't feel like you are singling her out, when she asks why you got it tell her that you wanted to do something together other than sit around the house, it is productive and will not hurt her feelings. However, this will also be good if she thinks she's gaining weight and asks you then you say "no, I think that I'm gaining weight and wanted to get both of us a membership to spend more time being active."

this is a toufy ladies hate to hear they are putting on weight. It shouldnt matter that much unless it is a significant amount. tell her ur goin on a diet and u dont want to do it alone. She probably feels she has hooked u so she can let herself go a little. Or talk to her friends about it and ask for there help ( dont let her know u did) ying is bad especially in a new realashonship but u want the women u married back right? go on jogs together do exercise together dont single her out make it a time for u both to spend time together that way it doesnt seem like working out as much as being with ur man ! GOod LUck

If she is putting on weight, she knows it a whole lot better than you. She sees herself in the mirror, and her clothes don't fit like they used to. Find out what the problem is, and the weight will not be an issue any longer. She might be depressed, and uses food as a temporary relief from it. Talk to her lovingly, but don't bring up the weight gain.....let her do it. She needs love, not criticism right now.

Ffrom what you say it would appear that your wife is really eager to put on weight and that she is consciously do it!
Only if she co operates and willing you can achieve this. May be you can bring home books like Health Today and other magazines that cover this subject of overweight and possibility of diebetes and heart diseses. She will start to think about it.In the long run only another girl friend can persuade her to join Gym to reduce..

Perhaps you could offer to do all the cooking for her. Maybe even find something far more interesting than food for her to participate in. Does she dance? She may like to go to a dance club. If you allow her to feel attractive without being jealous of any attention she may get that will keep her attractive. After all isn't it flattering to your ego to be married to an attractive and contented woman. At least you want to learn how to make her happy. Good luck to you both.

UMMM... you cant.... BUT! you could suggest that you both go for "romantic" walks after dinner...or mention that you think you both should get out a bit more together and do new "just us" things...like swimming, go to a gym. Perhaps take turns making dinners, and on your nights...prepare some calorie reduced meals? I know you may think why should you have to do any of this if "she" is the one gaining? well, marriage is all about being there for each other... who knows, once your wife sees a bit of a change in her body, she may just continue on her own, however, exercise and good diet is healthy for us all...it would make you feel good as well.:)
just occurred to me...COULD SHE BE EXPECTING?

first of all congrats for starting your new life.
dear friend every one love to hear something good for himself or herself. if you have felt anything bad regarding to your wife then do not tell her directly that what you feel bad for her because she may hurt.
the best way to say someones bad habit is to follow the sandwich theory. that means say something good for that person and in between put your words in such a manner so that the related person will not take it your words on heart. then again say some good words regarding that person.
i hope you understand the sand witch theory.
that is the combination of good feelings plus bad feelings plus good feelings.
make sure while doing this your words should not be harsh and abusive be gentle and supportive and don't insult the person. because your aim is make correct that person but not hurt that person.
always make realization of a mistake or bad habit of a person in alone not in front of others.
try to show the plus and minus points of the issue and make sure try to understand other persons point of view on the issue.
i hope i resolve your dilemma.
once again a very happy married life

Hmm...I guess you must be one of those "visual" men then, you only married her for her "outer" beauty and knock out body. What is she going to say to you when you lose your 6 pack, get a spare tire and start balding? Maybe you both can start taking a romantic walk after dinner in the evening, or join a gym...making it a couples thing instead of "my wife is gaining weight" THING!

I don't think there is a way of commenting on her weight without hurting her, but you could try to make her understand that it is a matter of health and that you are just as attracted to her as before

You can't. Her weight and appearance are her own concern, and I'm sure she will have noticed for herself. If she chooses to lose weight, that is up to her.
Will you still love her if she gets bigger? If so, what are you worried about?; and if not, this is not a real marriage, so let the poor woman go now.
