There are only two reasons the U.S.A. illegally and unconstitutionally invaded another sovereign nation that in no way threatened, provoked, or attacked the U.S.:
1) The Bush family has had a personal vendetta against Saddam Hussein ever since the days of Desert Storm, and wanted to 'settle the score';
2) Dick Cheney wants all that OIL swimming underneath Iraq's sands so that he and his buddies at Exxon-Mobil can get richer and richer and richer.

So what if we killed 3,000 innocent Americans in a 'terrorist' attack just so we had a [lame] reason to attack Iraq?

So what if we've killed 655,000 Iraqis in less than four years?

So what if 3,000 U.S. soldiers have died and 21,000 have suffered permanent disabilities and injuries (not to mention all those who will suffer from post-traumatic syndrome once they get to come home)?

It's the OIL money that's important! Not human lives!

If Bush truly believes the U.S. will be out of Iraq by 2009, why is the world's largest embassy under construction on a 104-acre site in downtown Baghdad overlooking the "new" Iraqi government's headquarters? Because we're going to be there until we suck every drop of OIL out of Iraq's sands. That's why!

If Bush really wants to bring democracy to the world, why isn't he attacking other countries ruled by madmen dictators? Because those other countries have no easily-accessible OIL!

Prediction: As soon as the Bush handlers can figure out a plausible reason that conservative ditto heads will 'buy', they will order Bush to attack Iran for the very same reason: rich fields of easily-accessible OIL! And America wants it ALL!!

Okay, repeat after me:
The reason the US is in Iraq is OIL!!!!!
We have no interest in turning Iraq into a democracy.
We have no interest in saving Iraqis from an evil despot.
We only have interest in all that OIL money! Period. -RKO-

Well, I can see you're a bush brasher, fair enough, but I'll try to answer you question.

First Saddam believed he had WMD's otherwise why wouldn't he let the inspectors in and have the UN sanctions lifted?

(My opinion) It because the people around him were telling him that he had WMD's. He order the development of WMD and the people around him were afraid to tell him they couldn't, so they told him they did.

Saddam invaded another country and suffered UN sanctions because of it. All he had to do was allow the inspectors in and the sanctions would have been lifted. That wasn't the US it was the WORLD saying that.

Second Saddam was put in power with the help the US, doesn't that make the US somewhat responsible for his actions?

Third Saddam already used WMD against people what make anyone think he wouldn't do it again?

Fourth Where was the outrage when he did this? Where was the outrage when they were raping killing women, children?

Do the people who are against the war in Iraq really want Saddam back in power? Do they really approve of rape, murder, and the torture of women and children?

If you're really not just out to bash Bush please answer.

Lead a good life.

...strictly for the oil and nothing else. That will benefit the the coffers of Dubya's oil exec buddies, including Halliburton. All of this has come at the huge costs in lives: more than 2,700 American troops, numerous Iraqi security forces and police officers, and well over 600,000 civilians! Is that enough for Bush and his oil company cronies, lining their already burgeoning wallets?! No, not quite! They're basically extracting every single drop of the black gold from Iraqi soil until it's all gone!!!

I think it's for a combination of reasons: boost bush's popularity rating for the 2004 election, attempt to get the middle easterners in line (this failed miserably), naive christian thinking that george's mission is to "save" other people, throw some bucks to the people that supported his campaign in the guise of military contracts, get back at saddam for the attempt on his fathers life, and last, saddam switched over to accepting euro's instead of dollars for oil about 2 years before the war began, if the rest of OPEC had followed we would be in deep sh*t right now

He wanted to replace Saddam as the next big thing in dictators in Iraq. He just didn't want to be President and run a country, he wants to own a country.

to bring democracy and our financial system to the middle east .This also brings with it our massive billion dollar porn industry acoholism and drug use with it .
No wonder these people want to kill us .Happy mud hut dwellers all of a sudden forced to watch the family they love and enjoy being with leave to go to the big city and return rapeists drug abusers and sinfull according to all muslim laws .
I wonder some time who is right ,people like the amish and muslims that tolerate little deviance from traditional ways or all the rest of us who have given into hedonism to some extent or another .
Our system breeds devients of all kinds and they are everywhere .In our politicians like bill haveing sex in the white house with a 20 year old intern and recently foley who likes young boys .We have dozens of perverts and devients in our system at the highest levels .
I think losing is the kindest thing we can do for them .

to defend the rights of peace-loving Iraqis to have a democratic government whether they want it or not.

Don't think he's used that one yet. He's used so many its hard to keep track.
