My car is in really good condition for a 1990 Honda, in regards to the engine and all that fun stuff. The only problem is that my car reaks - it was owned by my grandparents who smoked in it, and it has a few scratches and stuff. There is alot of ashes around the backseat of the car. What is the best way to get rid of the nasty smell, clean the ashes off, and get rid of the scratches on the roof and trunk of the car?

You'll have to get the vent system cleaned out in addition to upholstery cleaned and everything else. It will probably never smell like a rose again, since there are just too many nooks and crannies you could never get to that have absorbed the smoke.

Shell out around $100-$200 and have it detailed, which will take care of the smell and dirt inside and out. It might even make the scratches seem less noticable, but probably not. Make sure to go somewhere that you know is a respected well known business. A lot of car detailing places are nothing more than a scam, so you want to know you're getting your money's worth. As far as the scratches/dent if you take it to an auto shop for small amount of money they should be able to fix it up for you. So you might end up putting in a few hundred dollars, but the car will be like new again once you do it.

Take it to a pro and tell them that you want it cleaned totally to including getting rid of the smell. And that you also want the car buffed out. This as a rule will take care of scratches as long as they are not too severe.

Take it to a detailer, it seems they can do miracles to vehicles.
