The front Wheelbearings are what is known as a sealed bearing assy. and unless you have a press handy the best bet is to take it to a shop the job is very time consuming and I do not recommend that you do it yourself because the driveaxles and the brakes rotors and the wheels are all attached.

Not on a Taurus. There are too many little things you need to know. Don't even think about it till you put out $15 for a Clymers or Hayden manual. It will explain the procedure a lot better than a bunch of Yahoo yahoos.

well first thing is jack up the car and take off the wheel,then you have to remove the axle,caliper,and rotor.because its pressed in you will have to take the bearing case into a machine shop and have a new 1 pressed into the case.hope this helps you.

I'd take it in. The bearings will have to be pressed and you most likely cannot do that yourself unless you have a shop. :)

It can be....but i think on the Taurus you have to press them on and off with a hydraulic press.
