Is it bad to skateboard in converse? I don't have Vans but I have converse and I need to know if its okay to skateboard in them.

Not really. It's best to get a solid shoe like Vans. I know that they are expensive and if you can't afford them then you would probably do well with a cheaper shoe with a better gripping sole than converse and your ankles need to be free moving.

ok, paved wave rider from way back here, skate barefoot or any shoes that have laces or the hot thing was them Water Shoes. they like slip on and have mesh and stuff. Keds are kewl also. any deck shoe.
New to skateboarding, have fun, dont slave out to fashion.

Converse were created originally for basketball players. If you skate in them your ankles will be bust within a few weeks. Id reccommend Osiris shoes.

Skating in converse is not a good idea for a few reasons. first, you probably could mess up your ankle but that's bound to happen anyway. also, for me the shape is really uncomfortable for skating. and last, they're paper thin and will get torn to hell in a short amount of time

lol you can skateboard in anything you want. just make sur eyour shoes are tied and you wear a helmet, not wearing one is just ignorant
