About how long does it take to process an uncomplicated, uncontested divorce in Kansas, and what are the major steps for processing the divorce, what documents must be filed, and what court appearances must be made??? Please help!

(60-1601)
1. Incompatibility;
2. Failure to perform a material marital duty or obligation; or
3. Incompatibility by reason of mental illness or mental incapacity of either party.

The petition can be filed in the county where either spouse lives.
****NOTE**** We ARE NOT ABLE to prepare divorce papers for Coffey County, Kansas. They have an unconstitutional and ridiculous policy of not accepting documents from pro se defendants unless they are represented by an attorney. Until they change this policy, we will not be able to prepare papers for this county. We apologize for the inconvenience.

Filing Information
An action for divorce shall not be heard until 60 days after the filing of the petition unless there is an emergency why it should be granted sooner.

Go here and read all the statue’s on chapter 60 article 16
in the search area type in divorce and it will bring up the article16 and chapter 60 .

One member goes to see a lawyer to file....after the papers are written-then the other party is served with the papers!

IF both parties agree-then both sign the papers in front of a notary and the papers are file --within a month -its all over!
