i use it like anything. i change games more often, sometimes switch off power directly, leave it dusty and so on.

My boyfriend does the same with his normal PS2 and he's had it about 3 years and it's fine.
I wouldn't worry, by the time it breaks down, you'll probably have a PS3 anyway!

My friend often throws his across the room in a fit of rage and it still works fine, so yes it's ok to do whatever you like...
