Either you don't have the software that the attachment needs installed, or your antivirus software is blocking it.
Copy the attached file onto disk and take it to one of those Internet Cafe places or the library and try to open it there.

i would be guessing the following your using something like outlook express, then u click on tools options security and untick do not allow attachements to be saved etc.. then apply ok it and u will be able to open the attachements.

Maybe you do not have the software that opens that specific file.
