These are all acronym they usually have more then one meanings. As a rule one must give full spell out with acronym in the bracket then only it should be used.
eg.
Victoria Terminus(VT), Verified Transmission.(VT)?Voice transmitted(VT) no written filing of report, by the news caster (he/she may write a book on it later,,just kidding).
Central Railways(CR),minootoo.(mt)
Continental News Network (CNN) only sure about news, network may be net. and Continental may be central. IBN is it International branch, so International Broadcasting Net or Network.
