Hi Roger, yes want to leave the EU. I like Europe, indeed I spend a lot of time in France as my partner has a house there and we love the way of life and the people. Also like visiting lots of other European countries BUT politically being a member harms us as a country. We are only ones who implement all the silly rules and we have lost control of our borders and our own laws. We need to put the Great back into Britain and can only do that by coming out of the EU.
Interesting thing is when we have spoken to people in France, Italy, Belgium, Sweden etc they all agree they dont want membership either. Appears the only ones who benefit are the politicians on the gravy train. Let's get out NOW.

I'm not completely up on my politics, but there's a really good reason why the EU exists and why Britain is a part of it.
Right now the world is very "unipolar" as the one and only "super power" is America - in fact it's often described as a "hyper power" as it's so powerful. Basically, whatever America does affects the whole world.
In the near future the world will be "multipower" as so many countries are developing so quickly. I believe the main powers in the future will be America, Russia, India, Brazil, AND THE EU.
It's all about power and having a firm platform to speak on the international level. Therefore it would be terrible mistake if England left as the power of the country will be greatly diminished.

Many millions of Britons are mindless sun readers. These are the same people who wish to leave Europe. The number of informed people who wish to leave Europe is virtually zero. You will be hard pushed to find a single peice by any acaddemic or otherwise cedible source who agrees with you. Try it. The question is when you see this is the case will you have the honesty to acknowledge it.

I am from India living in North America and I support you.Being in European Union is like washing each others dirty laundry.British fortune lies in the British common wealth.I doubt that after the war United States ever tried to help UK by encouraging the import of British manufactured goods although there is Anglo-American Alliance on most of the foreign affairs. Also I think the British Elite must start to think on different terms according to the fast changing Times.

As an American, this is a moot point. Why do Britons want to leave the EU?

Most of our foreign earnings come from the EU.
Why should we want to destroy our own economy by leaving the EU?

it's not a good idea for Britan to leave the EU. What would Britain think if France dropped out? They're too good for the organisation? I think Britain needs to stay in it, and give it a chance. It's so British to just give up on something and not stick it out. Clearly the people in the UK are intimidated by the class and sophistication of their continental counterparts....The UK needs to stick with the group. There's no reason not to. Otherwise, what will the UK be considered? Europe? or and independent continent full of island monkeys?

It's the worst thing they ever signed us up to. There are so many damned rules but there only seems to be Britain that abides by them all...... so the French can reap all the benefits.
To cheyennet..... The EU is controlled by France and Germany and they make sure they get all the benefits and give us all the problems.

Why do people claim to know the views of many millions of people. Do you really know so many or are you just influenced by the tabloids?

totally totally Hell Yeah!!!!
We should remain independent of the EU and The US.
Our domestic policy is dictated by Brussels and our foriegn policy is dictated by Washington DC. and our economic policy is dictated by the Bank of England (who do a far better job than Gordon Brown ever could).
But the point is, WHAT THE HELL DO WE NEED LABOUR FOR? All they do is lie and ****-up the implementation of policies dictated to them by other supranational bodies.
