Well, humanity, of course. And we're all one mistake from down and out at some time. And, probably, I have about the same amount of cash he/she does! (I'm on disability, and work part time from home, my husband is a retail electronics salesman on commission, in other words, he works 60-70 hours a week for not much of anything most weeks!) Oh, and I'm about the right age for it - most that I see are around middle-aged; it's hard to tell with some folks. I look younger than I am, and they may look older.

being a foreigner in a place and having a scumbug partner, though we are all God`s creation. The difference might be...homeless vagrant loses hope, depressed, contented, fear, low self esteem...while I progresses because I have the opposite qualities.

i was thinking about this because there is a homeless sort of woman i see everyday on my way home from school. it always strikes me that she and i have more in common that we might think.
meaning, we each had the same chance at the random drawing of cards that decide who our families are, what tools we have to take advantage of (education, money, etc.) and that at one point, we were the same in our wide-eyed ambition and viewpoint of the world. thinking how she and i came from the same cosmic roll of the dice makes me think we are not all that different since it was chance that put us where we started.

Outside of being human like them, I don't have a thing in common with them. They have told me that they were real survivors and that I didn't have a clue. My answer: I too, am a survivor, but with class. Most of them are a rebel without a clue!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! By the way I have attempted to help many of them, unfortunately without lasting results. Once a bum, always a bum.

Not much.
Mostly luck, good for me bad for him.
Freedom of choice. He chooses to do what he does. I choose what I do. Each of us with limitations.
The hope to have things better. Though to have what I have is what he may hope for.
To search for the things we need to get us through the day.
We just have a different place where we find what we need.
A place to lay our heads at the end of the day.
