You really should not get into another relationship until you are already over the heart break, anyway.
Focus on yourself and what you want for a while. Go to the gym and feel better if you tone up. Take a class in something you have always wanted to learn. Start a new hobby with lessons and all that.

But I thought this was the only way to get over a heart break quickly -- by resolving never to enter into a similar relationship again!!!!

You are hurting now, but you will heal. This feeling is far too often treated as a medical condition and the medicine keeps one from actually feeling the pain. You have to process this feeling if you want to get past it and it will dissipate with time, although you may carry the mark with you on your soul forever. Scars are not always bad, they are reminders of what not to do the next time. Though you feel as you never want another relationship you may, in time, change your mind, but for now you don't need to jump into another relationship; just heal!

if you never want another relationship, there is no reason to get over a broken heart. i'm assuming that you just got out of this relationship and it's perfectly normal to think that you will never date, or want to date, ever again. however, time will pass and though you will never forget the hurt, it will soften. you will find someone one day that will help you love again.

Time. It's been 18 months and I am just starting to get interested in another relationship. Some people just jump from one to another so I guess everyone is different.

do you enjoy walking around miserable. is this how you see your self 10 years from now?If some thing is over it is OVER. and the sooner you get the fact the easier it will be. You are not the first nor will be the last person to get dumped, take what you can from this and use it as a lesson

It is not just a saying , time will make you forget and the pain will go away. I am sure that one day you are going to fall in love again and you are going to want to be in a relationship with that special someone

The worse part about a break-up is the aftermath. It is very normal to leave your guard up for every one to see. After awhile, however, you will meet someone to where your guard will fade away, and you will be able to love again. Of course, even then do not completely let it down.
