Completely excellent question.

I'd venture to say that people are attracted to certain colors because those colors can reflect the person's own mood or feelings. Every color, having its own wavelength, has its own personality as well, and might attract certain people for that reason.

I feel like people's color preferences can evolve as they find themselves changing. For example, when I was a vibrant little kid, I really really liked bright blue to the exclusion of all other colors. When I mellowed out in high school, I came to love green. Now, at the end of college and feeling in the "fall of my childhood," my favorite color is pumpkin orange.

the dominant planet in a horoscope decides the liking of the colour. Basically there are only 7 visible colours are there. rest are all mixtures. Sun = orange, Moon= white, Mars =Red, Mercury = green, Jupiter golden yellow, Venus = Violet,
Saturn= Blue and black

Favourite colours are said to indicate personality traits... I don't know how true it is, but that is one thing I had herd.
If a person is true to themselves they shouldn't change colours... For exemple, my fav. colour is Green, followed by Blue. That is the way it will remain.
