I resigned,
believe it or not, I was earning 2K/ week when I was 19
with only a H/S education. Net/ Gross were = due to my 1099 status
I quit to follow my heart by becomming a long distance bicyclist.
less than 1 month later I was in a Coma with an ABI and 2 broken vertebrae, as the tresult of a 3 wheel ATV accident.
Talk about carma? I'm now retirred indefinately on SSI/SSDI
Appearently I had paid my taxes on the 100K and therefore qualified for the maximum amount of dissability benefits for a 19 YO
If I had a plan at that time it's irrelevant
If I had not had Blue Cross Medical insurrance
I would've gone Bankrupt in the 90's
other than that nieve mistake I have a solid record at work

People make minor mistakes (particularly lost opportunities) all the time. Fortunately, I have never made a major mistake. I strive to be pro-active and always have a backup plan.

A mistake I made early in my career was to assume top management was aware of what is going on. They made poor decisions regarding my product line until I realized that I need to set them straight.

I accidentally left a very sensitive report (about the way that the government had failed in its treatment of an abused child) in a hotel room. I rang the hotel and asked them to send it to me, but they'd already sent it to the government department. I owned up immediately and was forgiven - and I learned a great many lessons from the experience, not just about being careful where I left things but how to treat someone who was genuinely remorseful. I think the world of the man who forgave me.

Showing up. I was to count lottery tickets from three pm to about two am the following day. Sometimes we would close at about eight am the following day and would still get the same lousy eight dollars. Then they reduced my days to once a week so i was only making 8 dollars a week.

Smartest thing i did was to wuit without notice

I complained about my supervisor to his supervisor and it backfired! What I didn't realize is that he is great friends with the really big boss!! So, even though I had documents to back up all of my complaints on why he was not qualified to manage our department, it meant nothing. Now, I'm the bad guy, so to speak!

well I dated my boss, i have to say it is a huge mistake. We broke up, annd we fight a lot, I did just get a warning last week for insubordination. Cause I have a hard time not blowing upwhen we disagree.
