WHOA, do the lights on the router actually GO OFF, or is this your best guess.

If you simply lose the Wireless signal at about 5 minutes, then I would suspect a radio frequency interference. This could be from your wireless telephone or other device. These are supposed to be on separate frequencies, but they are cheap, and can interfere.

Try moving the router and wireless phone further apart. If they are less than 2 feet now, then try just moving them 6 feet or more. The same goes for your laptop and wireless phone extenstion... This might do the trick.

Bu that router should be AWESOME. But maybe the wireless adapter that you are using is only 802.11 (b) and you would be better off with a new one that meets the 802.11 (g) standard. I would get a linksys wireless adapter.

Keep in mind that your wirelss router is LINE OF SIGHT. So if there is a BRICK chimney between your wireless router and laptop, the signal may degrade. Again, move it.

Good luck

Are you connected wirelessly or with a CAT5 cable? And what type of broadband connection do you have, from which provider?

Wireless connections often drop, but not that frequently unless you're getting interference (or the router is bad)
