If America wanted land, why didn't they take all of Mexico, instead of just Texas, Arizona and California?

Yeah, I think they bought one of the states, and just took the others, but why not take the whole country and be done with it?

U.S. Army wasn't up to it in 1847 or we would have. I note some people are unaware of the MexicanWar and the userpation by the Texians.

Davie, when I try to answer questions on here, I have to trust that the asker has some clue about history on which the question is based. The US is not the only country who was involved in this land.. From time to time during the period, the French, Spanish, Mexican, British, & Republic of Texas were involved.

So refresh yourself on some history and rephrase your question and it might makes sense enough for me to be able to provide some facts.

It was an agreement. America at the time paid for the land and the agreement. Why don't they just take it now? Make it the 54th state after Puerto Rico, Afghanisan, Iraq? 55 will be North Korea you wait and see.

America was more interested in manifest destiny , coast to coast for America, they also wanted to keep the English and french out of the north west , so America would be one complete block , with out contending with the French and the English
