I am so sick and tired of republicans using scare tactics for the argument that Democrats will raise taxes, regardless of what cause they are for.

The real hard core fact of life is that BOTH Democratic & Republican administrations have raised taxes on numerous occasions. The problem is that when one talks about taxes, most are brainwashed to believe that they are talking solely about "Income Tax". The reality is that there are dozens of taxes levied on the American Public. Some favor the top 1% of wealth in this country, some favor corporations & some favor the middle class.

Taxes are essential in running a country. Tax revenue is the equivalent of "Earnings" to a corporation.

The problem in this country is not 100% the tax structure by itself as much as it is a problem with how the government spends the revenue.

Until we get serious and make an honest commitment to reighn in frivelous spending, then things will not get better. A good example would be the Iraq war. It is now costing the US taxpayer 2 BILLION dollars per week according to the Bush administrations GAO. Iraq will go down in history as THE most expensive war the US has ever fought. Oh, by the way, there is over 7 Billion dollars missing from the Iraq reconstruction fund. The US sure could do alot with that 7 Billion.

My final thought:

US Citizens are audited, Corporations are audited. Why is the US government not audited? Yes, it is a time consuming & difficult process. But to be sure, the only way of knowing how our money is really being spent, a FULL audit of all US government agencies is the best way to go.

Republicans, enough with the BS scare tactics and lets start talking solutions, on a bi-partison basis.

Peace

Hey Bunchik,
Last I checked, not many welfare recipients voted Republican because most Republicans are against the welfare state, whereas the dems are all for keeping the poor right where they are so they remain reliant on the government for their monthly handout which makes generation after generation of democrat voters.

But to answer this question, the libs don't think with their heads they think with their emotions. They believe that more taxes always equals more money to the federal government. Rather than, lower taxes causing more purchasing which makes more jobs to manufacture and sell the goods and therefore more taxpayers and therefore more money to the federal government in the form of taxes. The large evil corporations have to pay more taxes as well because their profits increase.

We are not Republican, we do not raise taxes to support lazy rich people like they do! Tax increases would be used to pay off the national debt, so that you can keep more of what YOU make!
Simple fact- if you are living above your means as the US government is, you must raise the income(taxes) and cut expenses.
Unfortunately, expenses have been cut so often in the wrong areas that society is suffering. Roads have not been kept up and the infrastructure of the US is falling apart.
As much as everyone seems to hate the idea, some social spending is necesary to get those that are down on their luck moving again. If this is not done society as a whold is drug down by it!

There would not might desire to be a deal for that. A balanced funds substitute is a great concern in spite of the taxes on the wealthy. My concern is that Congress would be deadlocked via fact neither party is keen to budge for the cost variety. the different subject is emergency circumstances that arise, like 9/11, Pearl Harbor, Katrina, and so on. If we've a thank you to handle those to boot as take care of a balanced funds (and that i think of shall we), then i could have no issues of such an substitute. If the two events are merely going to bicker over which billion money they like to diminish, then we aren't going to get something accomplished. Such an substitute is great as quickly as we don't have self-serving ***-hats in cost. it could be crippling with the present team.

Well it sure is funny how Bush lowered taxes and now Unemployment is at an all time Low.The stock market is at an all time High.Home ownership is at an all time high. And the Dems still think that raising taxes is the best way. Raising taxes always hurts the poor do you really think that when you raise taxes on corporations they are going to eat it OF COURSE NOT THEY WILL RAISE THE PRICES OF PRODUCTS TO COMPENSATE AND THE POOR ARE HURT.

Because even deadbeats have children to feed. Those children don't have a choice in who their parents are...whether their parents are rich or poor, hardworking or unemployed. But they still deserve food and housing.

This isn't about enabling the deadbeats. It's about protecting the children of America. How much assistance can a single person with no children get from the government anyway?

It is proven that lowering taxes raises more revenue for the government. And raising the minimum wage helps the rich and not the poor.

The idea isn't to help the lazy people. but the people stuck in a specific class, generation after generation. The lucky ones move up but a lot of problems arise because of our system that keep certain people down.

Of course, if the lazy people CAN do better but refuse, they shouldn't get government support.
