politicians why is it we are still paying for them to lye around and sleep in parliment?

they should cut out the house of lords and let people have a true say in what happens in their country and the way our money should be spent!!! millions wasted on our roads,houses,taxes,and most of all goverment fat cats who dont care what happens as long as the money is in their pockets.

The House of Lord is a remnant of the past in the UK. That needs to be emilinated.

Some of them are appointed, they waste money, riled with corruption, and use UK tax money for their own needs.

The reason is that the House of Commons does not start work until after midday so that the Tories in particular and a tidy few of the rest of them can do their other jobs as Lawyers,Directors of companies and Consultants.The House of Lords similarly works in the same way but most of their number are a lot older so are less able to keep up the pace.
The Whips in both Houses keep a number on hand sleeping in case of a surprise vote so that the party can win the vote.They need not be in the chambers but can be found filling in time in the Committee rooms,the library,dining rooms or bars.When its time for a vote the division bells ring and the Ministers are fetched from the ministries and the remainder woken from their slumbers unless the Whips have paired them.
This is done by sending a Tory on a fact finding trip some where and a minister can get on with his work somewhere else,for Tory it may be a liberal or any other member of the opposition.

I have watched "The Parliament" channel and I don't see them at their places of work.
The green benches are empty most of the time.
