If I'm on vacation, staying in a resort, the first thing I do when I open my eyes is look out the window and examine the weather, so that would be 15-20 seconds.
When I'm home, on weekdays, the cat usually wants out before I can even crawl into the shower, so that would be 1 minute.
I'm usually not concerned about what it's like outside when I first wake up unless we are having severe weather patterns (rainy floods in January, blistering heat waves in July, or heavy heavy fog in December).

soon as the coffee is made. when it's nice, i stand outside with it for a few minutes. if it's too cold, i'll stand at the glass door and look out.
i have to get up really early so it's always dark at first. i like to wait until there is a little light at least.

You know me, I like to live dangerously, so I wait until I'm dressed for the day, then just open the door when I'm ready to leave. Hubby, on the other hand, stumbles out of bed and races to the window every morning, leaving me to deal with the blaring alarm clock.

I open my eyes, I sit up, I pull back the curtain and look out the window. Sadly, I let the weather determine my mood upon waking. If its sunny and bright, my mood matches and vice versa!

I have a skylight right over my jacuzzi tub, so seeing the blue skies or stars are unavoidable, plus, when I wake up, the very first thing I do is let the dogs ouitside.

I wake up and look out immediately. To look at my flowers that are awake outside my bedroom window and the sky for clouds.

It's not the first thing I do on a weekday, when everything is mundane and dark. But on the weekends I look outside first, it's a good indicator of what I'll do.

thats the first thing i do
i wake up and pull back the curtain
go and wash my mouth and face
then return to the window and stay there for at least 10 minutes before i start any activities for the day

If it's raining, I look outside the instant I get up. Otherwise, I wait a few minutes.
