is it the intermembrane space or outer membrane?

I did have three other options (matrix, cytosol & inner membrane)but have matched these with other processes.

Thanks for your answers so far - am confused now though!

I was asked to match up phospholipid synthesis, oxidative phosphorylation, nucleotide phosphorylation, TCA cycle and glycoysis with matrix, cytosol, inner membrane, outer membrane and intermembrane space.

Had so far got oxidative phosphorylation matched with the inner membrane, TCA cycle matched with the matrix and glycolysis matched with cytosol.

Any more suggestions?

ATP formation (from ADP phosphorylation) occurs In the matrix.

Probably you have matched the other in a wrong way.

OK, now that you give us the whole list... First of all this is a very bad question, since the options you are given are wrong.
The most plausible matches are

Phospholipid synthesis - outer membrane
oxidative phosphorylation -inner membr/intermembrane space
nucleotide phosphorylation- inner membrane/matrix
TCA - matrix
glycolysis - cytoplasm

However this is complete crap since:
1.Phospholipid synthesis is mainly done at the endoplasmic reticulum
2. The enzymes for oxidative phosporylation are located in th einner membrane (though you need to pump H+ to the intermembrane space to have the H+ gradient forming and the substrates are in the matrix...)
3. Nucleotide phosphorylation is part of the oxidative phosphorylation, not a separate process from it.
4.Nucleotide phosphorylation is done by the ATP synthase that is located in the inner membrane. The catalytic part is in facing the matrix, and thus the transmembrane enzyme takes ADP from the matrix, phosphorylates it to ATP and releases it back in the matrix. So actually inner membrane might be a bit more correct.
5.To be perfectly honest I wouldn't really associate the intermembrane space with any of these processes since none of them occurs there. Oxidative phosphorylation and nucleotide phosphorylation are related to that space because of the proton gradient, but they don't occur there...
