...will this be sufficient to get my checks cashed at either a check cashing place or the bank? i have proof of address and a mastercard with my name on it but i dont have a bank account or state id/drivers licience.
any help would be appreciated....thanks.

I would think that a passport is sufficient if you have the other proofs of name/address as well. Most places do accept a passport as ample proof nowadays.

Go to the bank it is drawn on, if possible. You'll need two forms of ID...your passport and MasterCard will be fine. Otherwise, WalMart should be able to cash payroll checks/employer checks.
