8 years is a very long time to be with someone. You must truly love them, are you whilling to sacrifise your love over your boss who is older than you & that you hardly even know? Are you happy with the person your with know? Or are you slowly loosing interest? If you don't see yourself with the person your with & you think it's time to call it quites. Well then you do just that, but if you truly love this person & want to be with them then just stay with them & try to forget about your crush. Honestly I think ever long term relationship always has that second thought about someone else. You can't help for you like or love. The question is what do you want? What do you think is good for you? Because it's your life...live it how you want it...Not having sympathy for others...don't cheat though...Don't ever cheat...if you want your boss then get 'em...just leave the one your with before you get involved...Good luck

Think about the pros and cons. Do you know if you're boss even notices you as a possible partner? Are you sure whether or not she even has a partner? And you said she's straight, so I'm guessing you're a lesbian, right? The odds of changing someone's sexual orientation are pretty low. I say stick with you're partner that you have now. Hope I could help.

What is going on with your long-term relationship that you are looking at your boss? Sounds like you are in a rut and need to shake things up at home.
Plan a weekend away - where you are focusing on your partner and try to bring the "magic" back into your relationship.
Good luck!

Its fine to crush! but realize that its JUST a crush.
If you love your partner so much, think about how you would feel if she was longing for someone else? So just move on and stay true to the one you love.

exercise, play tennis, go for a swim, walk, ride a bike, anything that keeps your mind occupied in something else is going to help and since you love ur partner try and go out more or do stuff together to try and recandle the love you feel for that person. its hard i understand but after 8 yrs i think its worth trying harder...

It is probably just infatuation. and it is not a good idea to get involved with someone at work. Thank God, you have a partner, so be grateful for what you have. The grass is not always greener on the other side.

You answered your own question. If you truly love your partner, you won't be selfish or silly enough to hurt them over a momentary crush.Especially with your boss which provides it's own set of potential problems

You will find many people during your life that are especially attractive, not all of them will be available to you. Just enjoy your fantasies but stay true to your present partner.

Go to counseling and tell the counselor. S/he will help you sort out why you have feelings for an authority figure.
