If I'm majoring in psychology, can I minor in premed and take all the prerequisite premed requirements? Or should I take premed as a minor when I'm a senior in college? I'm a little lost with the premed prerequisities and I'm not sure when exactly I should take the the requirement courses to get into med school?

The prerequisite pre med requirements are:
8 credits of bio
8 credits of physics
18 credits of chem

Oops, typo. It's 16 credits of chem, not 18.

When you get to college, your pre-medical advisors will help you with this. "Pre-med" is not usually a major or a minor, it is just a list of courses that medical schools expect students to complete at the undergraduate level.

And your list is incomplete. Some medical schools also expect a year (8 credits) of calculus, and most expect a year (8 credits) of English or some other writing-intensive course.

But, basically, this is what you should do:

Take English both semesters of your first year.
Take Chemistry (with an associated lab) both semesters of your first year.
Take Calculus both semesters of your first or second year.
Take Bio both semesters of your first or second year.
Take Physics both semesters of your second or third year.
Take two semesters of Organic Chemistry in your second or third year.

You will want to complete most of your pre-med requirements by your junior year so that you'll be prepared to take your MCAT exam at the end of your junior year, or in the following summer.

Since you intend to major in Psychology, take Intro Psych both semesters of your first year, so that you'll be prepared to take upper-level psych courses in your second year.

you would be able to desire to significant in some thing. you are able to significant in something then prepare to med college maximum pre-med majors significant in a technological know-how suitable container via fact it covers whats gonna be on the mCAT attempt. in case you opt for to significant in some thing else different than the sciences, case in point like enterprise administration. Then when you end your significant, you gotta take a million bio path, 2 semesters of Ochem, the three physics sequence. So significant in something that hobbies you or significant in a technological know-how so which you do no longer gotta spend yet another year taking instructions to qualify for med college.

Get your major out of the way so that you can focus most of your studying your core courses for medical school toward then end.

This way all of them will be relatively fresh in your mind.

I took all my premed courses in 1 year, including summer school.

Aced the MCAT because it was all still very fresh.
