Should the pledge of Allegiance change the "One Nation Under God" part to the Republican way, where it would read, "One Nation Under Surveilance?"

Good question. Nice twist.
I don't know if you are old enough to remember Red Skelton but my family used to watch his show on TV every week.
Here is his description of the Pledge of Allegence including an editorial comment on the "Under God" phrase.

Did you know the original Pledge, written in 1892, did not have those words? It wasn't until 1954 after a campaign by the Knights of Columbus (a Catholic social group) that the words were added. The pledge then became both a public oath and prayer, violating, in my opinion, the separation of church and state.

One National Under Surveillance does make sense in these times. The neocons are turning me into a Libertarian, I swear!

the added phrase wouldn't be needed but we should take out one nation under god and in god we trust off money because it was added a long time ago under mcarthyism.
What also was added during mcarthyism was the swearing on the bible which I'm sure we can all see the irony of swearing to tell the truth on a bible.

No because we are pledging allegiance to the flag to our united states flag. We are one nation. And of course its going to be under God where else would our great nation be? The freedome of religion is one of the great one things we wanted when we started this United states many years ago. We wanted freedome and freedome of religion was one of our main gouls we established.
The pilgrems was one of our settlers and thats one thing that they wanted so why rip that away from them it was a good thing to have . no person has the right to control another. Or tell us whom we choose to reconize as our god The God of our understanding. Im keeping it one nation underGod no matter what anyone else choosed to call it. and thats My CHOICE.
I KNOW IM DOING THE FOOTWORK SO GOD FOR ME IS NOT ONLY UNDER OUR GREAT NATION HE IS INDEED EVERYWHERE SO FOR THOSE WHO CHOOSE NOT TO BELIEVE Im sad for you then you are renegging on a great endevor.

Separation of church and state, and congress will make no laws in respect to religion. Under god is assuming that everyone believes in God, and not everyone does, it wasn't added until the 1950s it should be changed.

People won't need this addition. They'll get the picture, so to speak on the extensive surveillance the gov't is doing. They should keep the God part in. We all need to pray that we keep SOME of our freedoms.

As much as I hate the "under god" part, I think your suggestion is pretty damn funny!

I don't care if it says God or not. I think we have bigger and more important things to worry about.

no because the pledge is something that everyone knows and it would be hard to have to teach everyone something different.
