If I'm Roman Catholic or Christian, would tattoos offend Jesus Christ or God?
What if the tattoo is modest and in a modest place like the ankle, back of the neck, upper arm, back...?

I got a tattoo of a tiny cross on the base of my neck probably only as big as this- t. Later that same year I found a passage in the bible that said Leviticus 19:28 Ye shall not make any cuttings in your flesh for the dead, nor print any marks upon you; I am the LORD.

When I read it, I looked up to the heavens & said sorry I didn't know, but now u do! Don't do it, bodies are His temples it only makes sense He doesn't want us to mutilate them.;o]

You know, this is a really good question. I've kind of been wondering it myself. I know the bible says something about a pierced ear being a sign of slavery (something about piercing your slaves ear and pinning them to a door or something?), and I've got 5 holes in each ear, but I'm no slave.

In regards to tattoos, I've got 6, but had fallen out of the church and now I'm starting to go back, and I've definitly made my mistakes in the eyes of the Catholic church, so I'm working through those with my priest. I'll have to ask him about tattoos.

Or we could luck out and some internet savvy Priest will be on Yahoo Answers today. (yeah right)

I am Catholic and have a tattoo. I have a friend who is Jewish. Her tattoo is the Star of David. Most people I know with tattoos ARE Christians.

according to the Jewish law something like if you have a tattoo
you are not worth being burried where all the Jews are, it is against Jewish laws. I am not 100% sure how I heard it:(

I am sorry if I offended some Jews out there.

Unless there are rules specific to that in your religion, no. It would be wrong only if you felt it was wrong. I don't think God would be too offended.

1st you need to pick a religion and live by what they say or don't be religious. Me personally I don't see anything wrong with tatts, I'm thinking about getting one and my husband has a few.

The Bible says not to, and it's the Word of God.
