I compete with what I thought I could be as a child. It's proving a difficult task.

Yes, usually I am ONLY competing with myself, whether in sports, career or knowledge. I strive to become better, but to measure myself against someone else would create skewed data. Everyone is doing what they can within the parameters of their own experiences. We can use others achievements as a yard stick to measure our own growth but we should never feel inadequate or superior to them.

And I like the analogy. I absolutely agree. Each person has their own lessons in life, and each person has their own teachers, but each person has the sole responsibility for the content of their education and the implementation of their knowledge into the stream of existing life and as some argue, the continuation of their life after the death of the mortal body.

Peace.

Every day. It's always two fights.
1.good side versus bad side-with everything that's happening to me right now, I can't help it, but I'm letting the bad side win.
2.energetic side versus lazy side-energetic is winning at the moment, but check back tomorrow and things may change.

Always, it's a battle of the mind. I have a long and complex history of this, I could write a novel.

Nope.

I'm too tough for me to take on - I prefer to mix it with other people.

At least that way I have a chance of winning, even if the odds are stacked against me :oP

My left hand competes with my right hand and I always win.

I find that I'll often pressure myself. I'm my worst critic. If I'm scared to do something, or if I'm just being too darn lazy (which is usually the case) I'll think to myself "Come on, you lazy bum! Just go get it over with!"
