I want to be in walking distance of all the sights and the hotel should be 3* or over and good value. Too many hotels so I would love someone just to tell me the name of one they have stayed at.

When I went to Prague last year, we stayed at the Hotel Josef. It's really close to the big square (St. Wenceslas, I believe), it's quite near the Charles Bridge, and what makes the hotel really neat is that it's cute and contemporary, a blend of old Prague and new architecture. The price isn't too steep (and since the pricey Four Seasons hotel is close by, we used their concierge), but it's not cheap (3 or 4 stars). Another bonus is the breakfast - it's amazing!
If you need the name of a good restaurant, there's a cute place right by the Charles Bridge that serves crepes. I hope that you enjoy your stay in Prague!

We stayed at Hotel Andels, a 4 stars hotel; we walked for about 12 minutes to get to Charles Bridge, by the river. Very nice. Breakfast was just wonderful.
