1st ensure that the power is OFF. Take a section of newspaper and roll it up to the approximate size of the socket or just a bit smaller. Then put pressure on the broken end of the bulb with the rolled newspaper using the end that grabs the base the best, and twist counterclockwise. The newspaper will give you a bit of extra reach, and should get the job done for you.

Make sure the power is off and then you will need a pliers. You will need a good secure ladder to get you up there too. Sometimes you can put leather gloves on and turn that glass thing that hangs down. If you bend over the edge of the bub, the metal part then you would not need a large pliers.

The raw potato works, but cut the power at the breaker box and not just the light switch.
If you can reach it from a ladder, after killing the power at the breaker box, use needle nose pliers. Open them to fit on two sides of the broken bulb base and turn it. It's worked for me several times and as long there's no power you won't get a charge out of it.

The only way I can think of is, Make sure the electricity is off, cut a potato in half, get up to the light, shove the potato up into the light socket. Turn the way to get it out. keep turning untill you get it out. Let it dry a while befor putting the bulb in. This has worked for me several times. Good Luck, Becky

did the glass wreck? or did in simple terms the glass pop out? if that's the 1st, do by way of fact the others have pronounced. if that's the 2d; turn off the breaker or unscrew the fuse, or unplug the lamp. get a pair of needle nostril pliers and grip the fringe of the metallic base, taking care to no longer grip the socket, bend in somewhat and then twist counter clockwise. i study that maximum individuals turn bulbs in too tightly, and in so doing bending the middle button interior the socket. that finally ends up in us having to coach the recent bulb in even tighter to get a stable connection. wish this helps, stable success, and happy trip journeys!!!
