The writing is excellent, the character development over the course of the last 5 or 6 years. The ability to utilize the secondary cast and make you either love or hate them, or just roll your eyes (Kirk) and the writers capture the absurdity of human nature. Combine that with small town gossip, monied older generation that grew up with a different set of values, captures a snapshot of life.

A pretty good slice of small town Americana, except that Lorelai doesn't respect the rules of Luke's diner and Rory isn't exactly the embodiment of honesty. Paris remains as cranky as ever.

The reason I love this show is the wonderful relationship between this mom and daughter and also the realistic relationship between Lorelai and her parents. It's believable to me. I continue to watch to see if Lorelai will finally find love and just to see how Rory's relationships unfold as well. I think this show is great. I love it!

I used to watch it, I got a little tired of their rapid fire dialogue. It is so unreal. No one talks that fast and that witty all the time...except Robbin Williams, maybe. I love the little town. I wish I could find a real life town like that to live in. Is there one?

I do not get to watch it all the time but I like the relationship between mother and daughter. The mother is not afraid to be crazy and enjoy laughter with her daughter. Not that all things are wonderful but a balance of mixing real life with humor and not being afraid to be wrong

i like it because it serious yet funny. they touch upon topic's i've never seen on any other show (ie rory loses her virginity to a married dean). it is realistic to life...sure some of it is outlandish but it is closer to life....perils that happen day to day, rifts in families etc. so yeah i'm a fan for gg.

my mom loves it but I dont sorry because I think the mother and daughter talk too much like theyre on some major caffeine...talk way fast and too much and exactly alike and they are like sisters instead of mother/daughter..so to answer question as best i can since its my MOMS FAVORITE show, (and she is 65)... I think its because she likes their relationship..the way its sister-like...... the mother acts like a teen......... i dunno...........
I cant put it down just cuz its not my thing.... actually compared to todays television... I herald it HIGHLY because it isnt trashy and immoral............ so for that reason i think its great.
one of the FEW good examples for teens.............. should be praised.
