The "facts" are from the Times newspaper - a most reputable paper even if it is highly pro-Blair/pro-Bush ! as it is owned by Rupert Murdoch.

I dont agree with the war but there are soldiers out there that are proud to die and live there whole lives waiting to fight for something they believe in. I know many soldiers that are willing and able to be over there fighting so you can get on the computer and voice your opinion. No one forces our soldiers to join the army, navy, air force, marines its something they want to do and most of them know that when they join there is a good chance they are going to war. If my son or daughter or husband died I would be hurt but i would know its something they chose and they were willing to die to protect us, if bush surrenders thank god and be thankful everyones loved ones will be returning home

They served their country, not Iraq. They should be proud of them but also not naive: when you join the military you go where the prez sends you: no questions. If you die, it is the cost of being a soldier. Being a soldier in the 21st century is still a lot safer than being a Chinese miner.

Betrayed

I'd like to know how news medias get their info if meetings are secret? Sounds like bullcrap to me. Oh, and Canada needs to hush up about my country. Unless she wants to be compared with Chavis and that nutbag from Iran (I ain't gonna try to spell his name). Who was it...Dan Rather?..that lost his job due to the "facts" on a story about Bush. How humiliating. Just shows how blind hate can ruin your life.
Back to my point. If meetings are secret, then how do we know what's being said. If someone is leaking info, like some Democrats in our government, then they need to go to jail for treason. Better yet, do it like they did in the old days and be executed.

Betrayed he would loose thousands of votes if he pulls out without anything to show for it except the loss of the soldiers

I concur with "Vanity" above. There would be no more senseless loss of American lives in this ill-conceived war. "Jack S" should either have a member of his immediate family fighting in Iraq or himself, and he would have a totally different attitude and opinion.
