All the talk of blood for oil I want some of that cheap gas in my car. We fought this war for Haliburton and for oil. Where is it? The liberals made me a promise and I want them to deliver.

Oil is in the ground, and it's pumped up, put in barrels and sold each day. US and multinational companies got long term oil rights from the Iraqi oil minister back in June. Remember when Bush slipped away from Camp David to Iraq for a rare visit in June. It was to pressure the minister on the contract. However, I think it's doubtful that the Iraqi government will honor these contracts.
No WMD's were found, just some degraded chemical weapons buried in the sand by the Iran border. They years old and they were fabricated for the Iran-Iraq war. No terrorists associated with 9-11 were in Iraq or were found there. You need to check an objective news source for facts, not just Fox News, Rush or some other right wing talk show. Seriously! Although we will never know the prime reason why the US invaded Iraq, the other issues you mention, the WMD, and the terrorists in Iraq are factual and easy to check.

first off, I really hate how people use the word liberal as a bad thing. The facist used that word for the socialist and commies and unfortunately it caught on. what makes a liberal worse than a conservative? why is mainstream media and people in general more comfortable electing a conservative rather than a liberal? Because of old connotations i presume. ..but in recent times liberals can be more aligned with socialistic values of advancing human rights and protecting the environment..now whats wrong with that? nothing when we have record melting of ice caps and an increased population of people other than white etc could go on but to more specifically answer this question:
Bush's family is in the oil business. The exact reasons for the iraq war are extremely complex but the oil is an issue. American consumes more energy than any other nation by a longshot. Our population is growing more than any other industrialized nation in the world. In order for our economy to continue to prosper and people in America to live a nice spoiled life (as compared to every other nation)..and in order for us to drive our vehicles and whatever vehicles we choose we need oil. Oil is the most profitable thing in the U.S. We need oil almost as much as food here.
However we do not lead the world in Oil production but the middle east does. That is the basis of the Bush for oil saying.
The U.S. needs other countries to cooperate with them in trade and relations because of our economy. We are in Iraq to "deliver" democracy to them and that isn't a lie...but why? It's not a humanitarian act (heavens know that many leaders in Africa are just as and more terrible than Saddam) no we are there because we ..our economy is dependent on oil. If Iraqis wanted a change they would have brought one, all we did was go in and create more instability. Our military is more advanced and richer than the next 14 nations combined in power...Iraq is not a threat. Terrorism is the scapegoat.
You cannot wage war on a noun...just think the war on drugs...just as ridiculous because you can never completely eradicate it...just like terrorism. And terrorist aren't just middle eastern..they come in all shapes and sizes and colors and are from all differant countries.
and seriously if we attack iraq and actually succeed in establishing a democracy do you think that that wouldn't create angier terrorists and insurgents??
Us being over there is the equivalent to them coming here and trying to make us all muslim and than exploiting our natural resources.
good question you have asked so now dig deeper and research our past and their (iraq and middle east) history. That is when you can come up with a real understanding.

Well, considering the Oil Fields under Basra are the worlds second largest reserves, and that American Transnationals now pump that Oil, i'd say thats evidence wouldn't you?
The war wasnt for 'cheap oil', it was for control of supply. Think about it, tis two different things
NB
*Laughs* They found weapons? Really? Please, do show us a link to somethign worthwhile. Terrorists? A legitimate Government?
So..civil war and mass anarchy is a Democratic government in control of its nation, yes?

im not understanding the question? ... you think it is just going to be anounced now that we are pumping the oil? or maybe u dont realize that we control iraq totally now? or maybe u were expecting to see a tanker pull up on the news with a big sign painted on the side "straight from iraq"? ... or maybe u figured it would somehow make ur gas prices go down to below 1$ hahahaha ... thats funny .... we ARE pumping iraqi oil and we will be pumping irans oil soon to ...

lol.how about it! just another useless rant,if they kick and scream loud enough some will believe them! anyway if it was about control to keep the prices higher they wouldn't out it on the market either! if i'm right there are alot of international oil companies from all over there that have interests in this ! including ,germany,france.russia,etc.
