Looking for the titles of horror movies that are within those periods, that are not low budget, or B rated films. There are many I have seen that had witchcraft in them, or were really scary, and I don't remember their titles. They don't make movies like they used too. Anyone from this era, and really know what I'm talking about please respond.

Suspiria 25th Anniversary

Tagline: The Only Thing More Terrifying Than The Last 12 Minutes Of This Film Are The First 92.

I watched this movie at the TLA in Philly when I was 14...didn't sleep that night. I see it is now available on dvd. Of course now days, there has been such an excess of blood and gore in movies, that the suspense and thrill factor is lost on younger kids.
Not a slasher movie, more of an mental ride.

i think the the first movie that truly scared me was Snow Beast, then there was Grizzley(I was scared to go into the woods for a long time. Lets see Evil Dead the first one was scary at the time. And you know the first 3 Friday the 13th movies were the best! How about The GATES OF HELL? that was scary and gross. If I think of any more I'll post it. hope i helped some.

The Evil Dead trilogy, This House Possessed, and 1000 Maniacs are the 3 I remember from my teen years as being great horror films.
