Well, a police officer serves their community to the best of their abilities.
They help protect their neighborhoods and keeps their citizens safe.
They are ambassadors and negotiators for their cities first.
They keep the city's business in order and things running smoothly as possible.
They protect our livelihood from undesirable elements.
They keep our roads and homes safe from others who do not wish to follow the rules set down by the people of our cities and communities.
They protect those like our children and elderly that are unable to protect themselves.
They do the same things our elected officials do, but in a different manner.
Maybe you feel that you wish to serve your community and work along side your officials for the better of the people without becoming a elected official because you feel that is where your strengths lie.

Oh, make sure you SPELL CHECK your statement.
Cops have to fill out a lot of reports!

Relate a personal story and tell how it is connected to your desire to become a Police Special Constable. Don't just bable on about how you want to "help people" or "make the world a better place" - that's what everyone else will do. You need to do something that will make your application stand out. And don't listen to the jerks who are busting on your spelling - obviously, you're going to check the spelling on your application. We all know people don't use their best grammar on the net (including several of those who made the comments)!

Try this site: www.alis.gov.ab.ca Go to Occupational Profiles, click on Police and Security. It is a complete profile and tells you what kind of things the job requires. That should help you determine what is important to them. Also gives links for training institutions. They may also have good info. Good luck. 2 year diploma I think. Need Grade 12 English and Social Studies

Things you are good at?
Things you are interested in?
What you have achieved?

I guess it depends on what you've put elsewhere but it might be a chance to sell yourself by putting in things not already covered in the application.

You could also phone up a contact and ask for advice. This wouldn't go against you.

Good luck with the application.

You have to say you want to make a difference and help people but the thing is you have to mean it so why do you want to become a Special Constable and what difference do you think you could make and why ???

You need to put down any particular skills or knowledge you have that is relevant to the job, but also you need to give examples of situations where you have used these. It is no good just saying "I am good at team working" You need to say "I am a member of my local (sports) team and I find that as well as keeping me fit and healthy, it allows me to mix with people and shows a good team working ethic. -
Of course this is just a suggestion, but remember always back up any statements. Don't be afraid to use examples from your current/past employment either -
HOPE IT ALL GOES WELL FOR YOU

I suggest something that will show your employer you are capable of doing the particular job you are applying for. For example, if you are applying to become a police officer, write something about your capabilities of up-holding the law in any way possible. Stay on topic and try to state your personality without boasting.

When faced with a difficult situation you are calm and rational and dont jump in with two feet. (or words to that effect). You have great interpersonal skill and get on well with members of the public, you dont judge people just on their appearance.
