One of the loudest, oldest and apparently favorite yelling points of the Nonliberals is that the Media is biased.
Yet the Media has not played up the Foley debacle, the Bush tantrums and profanity that has driven many staffers to resign or the name calling, calling Evangelical Christians "Goofy", and calling his own supporters "sheep-dips". Can we really assume that the Media is biased? If it is, might it not be the other way? Here in California one network (NBC) has been so inept at slanting the news in favor of a Republican candidate for Governoe that they might just as well be running endorsements every hour. The media in general y goes along with administration statistics when the rest of the world calls them shams. Opinions please, not airhead rants.

It's a rant that gets wider and wider. Media is liberal, movie stars are liberal, journalists are liberal, college professors are liberal, unions are liberal, scientists are liberal, etc., etc.
It's how devout Republicans can continue to say they have a clear view of the world in spite of the fact that 66% of Americans disagree with them.
With all the occupations that they label with a liberally bias, what is left for the right wing do for a living?

I will try not to rant and be an airhead.

In-depth reporting and unbiased reporting are absolutely rare and more common in print than on television. Most television reporting is simply reading press releases without any additional follow up or commentary. This is completely biased by the writer of the press release. Because well, it's his job to spin it, he or she is in public relations.

Ratings and distribution are a huge issue. Reporting news is not a public service before a profit center.

There are only a few owners of all of the media in this country. I'm not crying conspiracy here. But, with all big monopoly type companies, quality goes way down.

Finally and probably most importantly if an organization is trying to get an interview, get inside information, etc. on a political figure. They have to play nice or they won't get the interview or information they need.

And, finally as for the statement that the media is biased towards liberals. Well I don't buy it either. There are both sides of the fence out there in the media as well as everywhere else.

The media panders to whoever the US audience is made up of because they have to have good ratings to stay in business. In this more conservative era of American history all US media will shift a little to the Right so that the Media won't lose ratings. But even with that most of the US Media is more liberal than conservative (Except FOX News) but that's because liberal is more about being nice than conservative which more about being tough. And generally speaking people like nice over tough.

Try listening to www.airamericaradio.com You wil think you're in a parallel universe. ABC, NBC< and CBS lie by omission more than anything: they are owned by the same corporations that own our government. Because we the people are so ignorant, we have allowed the Bill of Rights to be thrown out, especially the part about the 'free press'. Our press is owned by the same oligarchs who own the Bush war criminals and their raping of the American Constitution.\
Believe the lies of the Repulsicans if you like: they are simply obeying Goebbels rule: Lie often enough and from many mouths and the sheeple will accept your lies for 'truth'. '1984' is indeed here.
And for those of you who don't understand what I just wrote, you are an indication of why an undereducated electorate cannot support a republic, and are only peasants in business suits, obeying the king/dictator/despot.

Yes it is. They no longer report the facts. They report their opinion. There are way to many reporters and they need to be the first to report their propaganda so they can fill their pocket book. News has become entertainment and they report 24 - 7. They want to keep you tuned in so they need a new story to report on the hour. The juicier and more controversial they can make a story the longer they can keep us tuned in to their network. It is my hope that we use our God given intelligence to see through all this BS. It sounds to me like you are one of those wanna be liberal reporters with a lot of BS in answering your own question. My opinion. No rant. Sheep dip for your information is to kill maggots in a wound. I never heard of any "sheep dip jargon". I'm one who questions your being so one sided. There are always two side to every story. I won't be opinionated if you won't.

The Media has not played up the Foley debacle? You are right, they just omitted a few facts like where 6the "victim" was a FORMER page who was of legal age when the affair took place! it was not played up because the demoncrats had already fumbled this attempt to steal the election.

When the Foley scandal came to light Fox News aired a story on it, but on the headline towards the bottom of the screen, it said (D) implying he was a democrat.

No, I do not think that the media as a whole is bia's, awhile back the repuke's were complaining that they were announcing the numbers of war dead and that was favorable to democrats. Should not the American people be privy to this information. It seems to me that people should know how many people that George Bush has killed with his decision to rush us to war based on lies he told. 655,000 dead Iraqi, 2800 of our troops, 100 just this month. Many, many more wounded and maimed for life. Yes, I would think that if a media source did not report this, then I would say they are not doing their job.

When you say hasn't played up the Foley scandal...you mean that they don't mention it every other second, it's just a headline every single day...right?
