My boyfriend is an exchange student (or something like that) from China and he doesn't have any family in the US. My mom suggested to me yesterday that I invite him over to our house for Thanksgiving day and dinner so that they (Mom and Dad) can meet him officially. I think this sounds like a brilliant idea. But some of my other family (Aunt, Uncle, Grandma) are going to be there, as well as a couple of neighbor families that we've known forever (one is a crazy Brittish guy and his grown kids, and the other is a family with two little girls aged 5 and 7). Let's jus say it'll be a wee bit cozy, but space really isn't the issue.
How can I make sure that the guests (especially my blood relatives and the little kids) don't ask questions that could possibly be akward and embaressing for me and my guy? Also, my family is a little off the wall, how do I make the entire ordeal less tramautic for both of us?

Oh, and how should I ask him and tell him about all the other guests?

Thank you!

Your getting yourself bent out of shape ahead of time for nothing. How do you know there will be any problems with these other guests that are there??? This guy should see your family and friends just the way they are. It's never a good idea for him to see them in any other way except for themselves. What he sees is what he gets. This is the best way for him to see them trust me. If your family is cool and down to earth then he will love them even if their off the wall. He might just like that about your family. There is nothing you can do to change anyone's behavior that day. Just calm yourself and let the day go by like any other day. If you worry yourself sick that day you will not have a good time or enjoy yourself. Just let him know how your family and friends are before hand so that he knows what he can look foward to. After that just leave it all alone and the two of you enjoy yourself.

Other then the "are you guys having sex" what other questions would be embarrassing? They are going to ask him stuff, he's your boyfriend, they are gonna want to know about him, that's natural. I'd more warn him that your family can be goofy sometimes, you never know he may have a goofy side also and may fit right in. As for asking him just ask...let him know that you'd enjoy it if he joined you and your family for turkey day.

Guys usually think that little girls are adorable, and as long as he isn't shy, I think that it will be a fun time for him. Guys usually think its funny to see peoples crazy neighbors and friends.

ask him over so he wont be alone. i have warned people about my family ahead of time so they know what to expect just in case an awkward situation arises. Good luck and happy thanksgiving.
I'm sure he would rather be with you and your family rather than be alone.

NO DO NOT TAKE HIM.
YOU WILL BE EXTREMELY EMBARRESSED.
i've had this happen to me. the only holiday you should have him meet your parents is when a BIG holiday (like xmas, if you celebrate it) so he knows why your family's "off the wall"
