Christopher Ecclestone was the best doctor ever, he really had the menace of the Doctor

A girl. It's been a bit heavy on the Christian/Jesus metaphor ,no?
Do you know Eccles was quoted as saying he'd only do the one season to "avoid being typecast ?"

Got to be a Brit. Got to be!
PS -you not Geraint incognito are you ?
How about the guy who played "Avon" in Blake's7 ?
Think DT has done great , the rapport established between Dr & Rose when she looked into the Tardis and could see everything, like him,and he'd had noone to share that with, that rapport has now been lost with Billy leaving, bit worried the heart will have gone out of the show with the loss of that special rapport between Dr and Rose.

Chris was brilliant. My fantasy pick would be Kevin Spacey as he can do mild, nasty and dangerous all in the one package. For good looks, Clive Owen.

yeah that would be a great twist to bring back Christopher Eccleston brilliant and its a shame he left after only one season because i know his character would have been great to watch develop, especially the on screen relationship between Christopher and Billie.

Failing that i think John Barrowman would have made a fantastic Doctor....FANTASTIC

Lenny Henry. Just to see how he'd do it really. Plus he'd be the first black doctor, which would be cool in itself.

How's that for "thinking out of the box", as they say?

David Walliams! He would be just the sort of quirky slightly mad looking character to play the doctor

Morgan Freeman....he has exactly the right depth for the character. he can be very believable, knowledgable and would make a great Timelord. can you imagine him in the tardis? that'd be great.
