It's definitely a media-created monster. If it only happens to one woman in a million, but they show that one woman each time it happens, people get the idea that it's much more common.
Look at what they did with pit bulls. They show you on the news every single time a pit bull attacks someone, but in reality there are millions of pit bulls and the vast majority never attack anybody. If you only went by the news, you would wonder why we don't just exterminate this vicious dog breed already.

its not an off based question,, in the mid 80s they had places called "Chicken houses" where people would take kids they found on the streets and sell them for drugs, money or sex and would go on their way,, and the house could do whatever they pleased w/ them from then on,,, that is similar to what they are doing today, but at a higher price,,, for a crackhead that is like gold, they could get as much as $15,000 and more if the kid is able to be ransomed,, its a sick and demented world we live in,,,,,

I think it is both. We have been hearing about it more and more (which I can't understand why another person would take somebody's unborn child), and the media grabs these stories making it seem like it is happening eveyday everywhere!
