He's the lead guitarist for Velvet Revolver, which is made up of mostly ex-Gun 'N' Roses members and singer Scott Weiland.

I do not know but he did start a band with Scott Wieland (Stone Temple Pilots) called The Velvet Revolver. He also started a band called Slash's Snake Pit
He also recently was in a commercial playing the guitar, I think it was Gap. Also I think he is going into a solo career soon, singing/guitaring like Dave Navarro (Jane's Addiction, Red Hot Chili Peppers)did.
I just googled it (gosh my computer slow) and yes he is in a commercial for Volkswagen, not Gap ( I will provied the link to the commercial below)

He's in a band called Velvet Revolver with Scott Weiland, Matt Sorum, Duff McKagan, and some dude from another band (Suicidal Tendencies, I think).
And, he's also doing Volkswagen commercials.
