Well, lets see. First off I have a big family that is scattered all over the states. Christmas has always been a tradition to get together at my Grans no matter what our other commitments are. Now that she is gone, my Aunt has taken the role. Good thing too 'cause the houses we have crammed into make us sound like clowns in a circus car! Every family has a certain specialty dish they are responsible for bringing. My step-mom and I spend 2 days making the Christmas cookies. We also started doing a grab bag (where each person picks a name to buy for) since our family is so big. It's nice because you have a certain $ amount to spend and everyone gets a gift. We also have a main grab bag where everyone participates-- its only $10. That is more of a gag so we have lots of laughs! It's nice to finally forget the stresses of life, settle down and spend quality time with the family that we hardly ever see througout the year.

I typically am not a holly jolly type of guy, but I do have a few Christmas seasons that I really enjoyed. I love the food. It's the one time of the year that I can be a glutton. Keep eating and eating. I love the Christmas show's. I love driving around town and looking at the lights. The best Christmas for me was when I opened up the present and in 1988, I got a Nintendo. I was so damn excited to play it. I lost sleep during that Christmas, because I played Super Mario Brothers nonstop it seemed. I love all of the smiling faces during Christmas. I love to be with my family. I really like that before the family opens the gifts, my grandfather reads the story of Christmas in the Bible.

I love being at home with family. My family has the old fashion Christmas. I have 9 brothers and sisters alll who have spouses and kids and even grandkids. We all draw names. The gifts must be home made, it makes them special. The one thing I truly would love to have for Christmas is SNOW. Being from florida, well it hasn't happened once in my 37 years, I truly doubt we will get it this year.
My daughters 3rd Christmas was really special. We decorated our home like it was a gingerbread house. She enjoyed it a great deal.

I love Christmas because that is the birth of my Savior. I love to hear the Christmas songs, they make me feel happy.

As for my favorite memory, I'd have to say the Christmas right after my 9th wedding anniversary, my hubby surprised me with a new wedding set. That and a saying my mom always used to say. "Christmas without Christ is a mess."

I love the way so many people I do not know, suddenly start smiling at me while doing Christmas shopping or just walking around the streets in Canterbury, and in general, people seem friendlier, and I can celebrate the birth of of Saviour Jesus Christ.

Spending the whole day with my kids and seeing how excited they are waking up on Christmas morning!
Best Christmas was last year, hubby didn't have to work (has to milk everyday morning and afternoon) and we got to spend the whole day together as a family. First one he's had off in 24 years!

The children's excitement ...
The lovely lights
Christmas trees
The latmosphere
The nativity in the local church where the kids trail up and down in their costumes.

It's worth every penny.

And the one I'll never forget?
The year my father left and my mother told us Father Christmas won't be coming this year. We didn't believe her because that's what she said every year. But he didn't come ....
