Can i use my vodafone contract sim card in a vodafone or o2 pay as u go phone?

you will have to take your phone to a retailer (or dodgy market) and they need to unlock it. it usually costs £20, but in a day you can use your new sim card. you cant just switch the cards between though, im afraid.
